Khadi Village Board Industries’ Supervisor Held For Taking Bribe


Puri: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday arrested the Supervisor of Khadi Village Board Industries in Puri for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.

The arrestee has been identified as Narayan Pattnaik.

According to reports, the accused had demanded Rs15,000 from the owner of a bell metal processing unit for facilitating the release of a subsidy amount of Rs 2,45,000 in digital mode in his favour.

With no option left the victim informed the vigilance officials about the same. Acting on the complaint, the officials laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe from the beneficiary.

The officials have also recovered the entire bribe money from Patnaik.

Further investigation is underway in this regard.
