Bhubaneswar: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday thanked Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik for joining hands with other states to push the Centre for ensuring free universal vaccination.
In a letter, Vijayan said,” Naveen Patnaik Ji, I thank you for the prompt and thoughtful response to my letter dated 29.05.2021. I am grateful for the efforts taken by your good self.”
“We are in complete agreement that the Centre should procure preventive vaccine against Covid and the administration of vaccination can be left to be managed effectively by the States. Looking forward to fruitful co-operation in the efforts to meet the unprecedented challenge posed by the pandemic,” the letter read.
On Tuesday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had written to Chief Ministers of 11 non-BJP states urging all to push the Centre for ensuring free universal vaccination.
Notably, Patnaik too wrote to CMs of all states on centralised procurement of vaccines by the Union government, rather than by individual states.
