Kendrapara girl nominated for International Children’s Peace Prize


Kendrapara: A 13-year-old girl, named Subhasmita Tripathy, from Odisha’s Kendrapara district has been nominated for International Children’s Peace Prize 2019 recently.

Subhasmita, a Class VIII student of Upper Primary School in Pentha village, is one of the 137 nominees from 56 countries nominated for the prize.

Subhasmita made her into the nomination by managing to bring 22 dropouts back to the school and provide support to continue their education with the help of villagers, school authorities and social organisations.

Subhasmita’s noble work, that was supported by teachers, later garnered praises from all the sections of the society. Kendrapara MP, Anubhav Mohanty, also congratulated Subhasmita on her achievement.





The winner of the International Children’s Peace Prize receives a study and care grant and a worldwide platform to promote his/her ideals.

The International Children’s Peace Prize is awarded annually to a child who has made a significant contribution to advocating children’s rights and improving the situation of vulnerable children such as orphans, child labourers and children with HIV/AIDS.
