Katrina Kaif replaces Priyanka Chopra in upcoming ‘Bharat’


Mumbai: Katrina Kaif has replaced Priyanka Chopra after the latter quit Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming film ‘Bharat’ starring Salman Khan. Sources siad, Katrina has joined the cast and will be seen in the lead role.

The film will feature Salman in five different looks over 60 years. He will also be recreating his look from Karan-Arjun. The film will be shot in Malta and Abu Dhabi. Besides some locations in Punjab and Delhi have has been selected for shooting.

Priyanka walked out of the project allegedly because of her reported engagement to Nick Jonas, the American singer.

Bharat is the official remake of the South Korean film ‘Ode to My Father’ (2014), and will revolve around India’s history as seen through the life of one man.

Katrina and Salman were last seen together in the film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ which was also directed by Ali Abbas. This is the second ‘Eid’ release of Zafar and Salman after 2016 film Sultan.

Bharat is scheduled to be released during the Eid weekend in 2019. The cast also includes Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover and Kumud Mishra.
