Bhubaneswar: In another incident of kangaroo court justice, a woman was punished for allegedly meeting her boyfriend.
The incident was reported from Mancheswar Leprosy Colony in the state capital, Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, the victim had come to meet her boyfriend Shanker Mandal. However, the family members of the boy did not approve their meeting. Following this, a group of women gathered and allegedly tortured the young woman after tying her to the pole.
On getting information, police reached the spot and rescued the young woman. The cops have also registered a case under relevant sections and sent the victim for medical examination.
Further investigation is underway in this regard.
