Chennai: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who was last seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, has been roped in to play former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa in AL Vijay’s biopic.
The announcement was made today on the occasion of Kangana’s birthday.
The film will be made in Tamil and Hindi as Thalaivi and Jaya respectively. The film will be written by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali and Manikarnika fame.
Composer GV Prakash took to Twitter to reveal the big news. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared the news on his Twitter handle.

Jayalalithaa, a six-term Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, died of a cardiac arrest on December 5, 2016. Between 1961 and 1980, she starred in 140 films in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
