New Delhi: The 28-year-old Kambala jockey from Karnataka will soon get the opportunity to showcase his talent to the coaches of Sports Authority of India (SAI).
Reportedly, a video clip of the Karnataka man, Srinivasa Gowda, covering a distance of 142.5 meters in 13.62 seconds, had gone viral on social media which later caught the attention of Minister of State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju.
Soon after the reports, the Sports Minister decided to call Gowda for trials by top SAI Coaches. He said: “100 meters in just 9.55 sec is an amazing feat. Proper training to Srinivas Gowda will definitely help him to make name for the country”.
It is worth mentioning that, Gowda had completed the 142.5 meters in just 13.62 seconds, setting a new record in the traditional sport of Karnataka.
Rijiju said: “There’s lack of knowledge in masses about the standards of Olympics especially in athletics where ultimate human strength & endurance are surpassed. I’ll ensure that no talents in India is left out untested”.
