Karnataka: Srinivasa Gowda, a 28-year-old Kambala jockey from Karnataka, has reportedly ran faster than Olympic and world champion sprinter Usain Bolt.
As per reports, a tweet by user DP Satish revealed this on Twitter.
He is Srinivasa Gowda (28) from Moodabidri in Dakshina Kannada district. Ran 142.5 meters in just 13.62 seconds at a “Kambala” or Buffalo race in a slushy paddy field. 100 meters in JUST 9.55 seconds! @usainbolt took 9.58 seconds to cover 100 meters. #Karnataka pic.twitter.com/DQqzDsnwIP

Gowda covered the first 100 meters 143-meter-long race in a smashing record time of just 9.55 seconds. In total, Gowda covered a distance of 142.5 meters in 13.62 seconds to emerge as the fastest runner in the history of the sport.
Gowda, a school dropout and construction labourer in the off-season, from Moodabidri in Dakshina Kannada district, had started actively participating in the buffalo race about five to six years ago.
Kambala is a traditional buffalo race in the Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts’ farming community.
