Kalia Murder case: Woman Neighbour Held For “Killing” Minor Boy

Dhenkanal: In a recent development regarding the death case of a 3-year-old boy, whose body was found inside a well at Khankira village under Nihalprashad police limits in Dhenkanal yesterday, police have arrested the prime accused involved in the incident.

The accused has been identified as Bharti Sahu from the same locality.

According to reports, Bharati Sahu and her husband Chandan Sahu, the neighbours of the minor boy, were detained by the cops after the boy’s body was fished out of the well yesterday.

During the interrogation, Bharti confessed to her crimes and admitted that she murdered the child over past enmity. As per police reports, the accused strangled the minor to death before dumping the body in an abandoned well in the village.

A case has been registered against the accused woman under relevant sections of IPC.

Notably, the child went missing while playing in the village on Wednesday evening. Later, locals spotted the body inside a well following which Fire personnel recovered the body.
