Kabir Singh named Box office Blockbuster, enters Rs 100 cr club

Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh has been named as Box office Blockbuster as it stormed into the Rs 100 crore club within five days of its release.

Kabir Singh earned Rs 16 crore on Tuesday, taking the total to Rs 93 crore.

Kabir Singh, which passed the Monday test with flying colours after a fantastic opening weekend, has now crossed the Rs 100-crore mark.

The film has emerged as the fourth biggest Hindi opener at the domestic box office this year. It is also one of the highest openers that had a traditional Friday release.

While Kabir Singh is refusing to slow at the box office, the film has been slammed by critics for its toxic masculinity.

Released in 3123 screens across India, Kabir Singh is going strong at single screens as well as multiplexes.

Kabir Singh is an official remake of the 2017 Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy that featured Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey as the lead pair. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also helmed the original.

It narrates the story of an alcoholic, brash surgeon who takes the path of self-destruction after his girlfriend marries someone else.
