Junior Women National Hockey Championship Day 4 Results


Kollam (Kerala): Action in the 9th Hockey India Junior Women National Hockey Championship 2019 (B Division) continued on the fourth day at the Kollam Hockey Stadium on Saturday.

Hockey Bhopal, Goans Hockey, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, Assam Hockey, Hockey Himachal, Hockey Patiala and Kerala Hockey registered victories in their respective Pool matches of the competition.

In Pool A, Hockey Bhopal defeated Andhra Hockey Association 5-4 in a high-scoring encounter. Goals for Hockey Bhopal were scored by Meenu Rani (13′, 48′), Lanleibi Chanu Khundrakpam (37′), Shaheen Khan (54′) and Vartika Rawat (59′) while Maheswari Balagonda (11′, 15′, 20′, 42′) scored all the four goals for Andhra Hockey Association.

In another Pool A match, it was Goans Hockey won registered their first win of the competition as they defeated Hockey Madhya Pradesh 4-0 where the goals were scored by captain Geeta Rathod (23′, 43′, 57′, 60′).

In Pool B, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu defeated Manipur Hockey 5-0 as R Nivetha (4′, 26′, 36′) scored a hat-trick while S Malarvizhi (28′) and A Kathiroli (39′) also contributed with goals.

In a Pool C match, it was Assam Hockey who registered their third win of the competition as they defeated Hockey Rajasthan 3-2 in a close encounter. Goals for Assam Hockey were scored by Khushboo Prajapati (11′, 17′) and Munmuni Das (52′) while Reena Saini (14′, 20′) scored the two goals for Hockey Rajasthan.

In another Pool C encounter, Hockey Himachal produced an emphatic victory over Hockey Jammu & Kashmir by a scoreline of 7-0. Goals for Hockey Himachal were scored by Jaismeen Sharma (18′, 49′), Reetu Devi (21′, 28′), Yashika Negi (20′), Neha Kumari (48′) and Shashi Bala (56′).

Pool C’s third match of the day saw Hockey Patiala put up a splendid display as they defeated Hockey Madhya Bharat 21-0 where goals for them were scored by captain Navjot Kaur (6′, 13′, 14′, 15′, 17′, 18′, 20′, 21′, 27′, 58′), Taranpreet Kaur (26′, 30′, 45′, 48′, 55′), Gurmail Kaur (8′, 33′, 59′), Kiran Kaur (3′, 41′) and Simran Kaur (56′).

Kerala Hockey defeated Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy 5-2 in their Pool D match. Goals for Kerala Hockey were scored by V.H. Sariga (44′, 49′, 53′) and K.M. Amaya (11′, 47′) while Sanya Noronha (21′) and Prachi Patel (41′) scored for Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy.
