Junior clerk held for taking bribe in Kandhamal


Kandhamal: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday caught a Junior clerk of Rural Works Division here for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5000.

The accused has been identified as Amulaya Kumar Sahu.

According to sources, Sahu had demanded Rs 5000 from one Shankarsan Satapathy to process his file for the release of arrears of pension. Following this, Shankarsan approached the Vigilance department and lodged a complaint.

Based on the plaint, the anti-corruption wing laid a trap and apprehended Sahu while accepting the gratification.

A case (4/20) was registered and a probe initiated, sources added.
