Seoul: On their 9th debut anniversary, BTS member Jungkook surprised fans by sharing dropping a new track dedicated to the fandom — ARMY. The song is titled My You. The 3:05 track is sung solely by Jungkook while he has co-produced the track with Hiss Noise. While the audio is a mix of English and Korean, the video adorably features lyrics on different social media platforms.
Titled ‘My You’, the animated sort of music video focuses on the mutual love between the seven members of BTS and their fans. There is an animated artwork of Instagram with seven members’ animal emoji description and Jungkook’s Instagram. Produced by Jungkook and Hiss Noise, he croons, “All the reasons why I can laugh out / All the reasons why I sing this song / Thankful to be by your side now / I’ll try to shine brighter than now.”
Thanking the fandom for being with them through thick and thin all these years, he further sings, “On a starry night / Hope my you sleep tight / Shining purple light / Thankful to be by your side now.”
In Korean, he wrote a special note to the fans that read, “Overwhelmed by all these emotions I have when I think of you, sometimes I wondered, ‘what if all these things disappear, what if all these were just a dream. So I wrote this song based on those thoughts and picked pretty words to fill the lyrics not to make the atmosphere Thank you always, ARMYs, and let’s make even better memories going forward! My ARMY,I love you.”
While the song beautifully conveys his message to the fandom, the music reminded us of the For Army track he composed on the occasion of his birthday last year. Nevertheless, the song feels like a warm hug on a rainy night.
