Kandhamal: A Journalist was killed while another was critically injured in a road mishap near Sambepadar village under Khajuripada police limits of Kandhamal district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Mishra of Masterpada in Phulbani. The injured journalist is Bikash Digal of Khajuripada. Both of them were working for a web channel.
According to reports, the incident occurred while the duo was returning from Khajuripada after gathering some news when a Bolero hit the bike they were riding.
On getting information, the fire brigade reached the spot, rescued both of them from the road, and admitted them to the Khajuripada Medical Center. Later, the duo rescued both of them from the road and admitted them to the Khajuripada Medical Center as their health condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, the doctor there declared Mishra dead, Digal is presently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway in this regard.
