J&K administration ‘forfeits’ gallantry award of arrested DSP

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has forfeited Sher-e-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry which was awarded to arrested DSP.

Davinder Singh, the Deputy Superintendent of Police was arrested on January 11 for helping terrorists to  travel out of the state.

According to reports, the medal which  awarded to him on August 14, 2018, was withdrawn through an order issued today by the Home Department signed by Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary (Home).

The report said Singh’s act amounted to “disloyalty and conduct that has brought upon the force into disrepute”.
