Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda Collector Saroj Kumar Samal has extended the weekend shutdown period till August 31 viewing the rise in coronavirus cases in the district.
The Collector in the order has stated that on Ganesh Puja (August 22) the market and shop establishments will remain open from 7 am to 5 pm.
On Nuakhai (August 23) the market will remain from 7 am to 1 pm, However, no pillion drive on a motorcycle will be allowed on the day, the DM further stated.
An official order read, “Public movement will be allowed on Independence Day (August 15) from 7 am to 11 am so as to enable the people to attend unfurling of flags. Heads of Office Establishments and Institutions including the educational ones will host the National Flag. The maximum attendance at all places including that of private organizations/units will be ten. Distancing will be maintained in the congregation. There will be no procession anywhere. Further, the district function will be limited to invitees only.”
