Jharsuguda: Coal smuggling racket busted, 7 held

Jharsuguda: Police have claimed to have busted a racket regarding coal theft by trucks from different mines of Brajrajnagar Sub-Division in Jharsuguda district and arrested seven persons involved in the same.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sudhir Mandal(22), Pankaja Yadav(34), Rajesh Biswakarma(42), Gokul Kua(33), Subash Chandra Raut(47), and Sukanta Nayak (24).

Acting on previous complaints and as per the direction of SP Jharsuguda, a team was formed under the leadership of SDPO Brajrajngar including all the IIC’s of Brajrajnagar Sub Division following which the patrolling was carried out at different places of Brajrajnagar Sub Division.

A police team, was patrolling in Rampur Out Post area, spotted at least four tippers (No.011238-6850. No OD-23C-2950. No OD-23A-5450 and No 0R-23C-5076) carrying coal of weight 68 M Tons illegally.

Following this, cops seized the four vehicles along with four One Pay Loader (Regd No- 0D-35-B-7811). Police also seized five mobile phones from the arrested persons.
