Jharkhand Minor Boy Torture: Sambalpur Sadar IIC Transferred

Sambalpur: The Inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Sambalpur Sadar police station has been transferred on charges of torturing minor boy from Jharkhand.

According to reports, the minor boy had lost his way during a train journey along with his uncle. Finding the minor roaming at Sambalpur railway station, locals handed him to the police. Subsequently, he was detained and tortured in police custody till August 2.

The matter came to fore after the father of the minor lodged a complaint with Sambalpur SP in this regard.

The minor boy’s father alleged that police called him and demanded Rs 50,000 from him with the allegation that the little boy has stolen four mobile phones.

Following the complaint, an inquiry was launched against the officer.
