JEE Main 2020 begins today


New Delhi: Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 begins today. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which is conducting the examination issued an advisory for candidates who are appearing for the examination.

The NTA has said that candidates must carry admit cards downloaded from NTA website, one passport size photograph (same as uploaded with online application form), which will be pasted in the attendance sheet at the centre.

Over 30,000 students will appear the exam at 7 centres in Odisha including Bhubaneswar & Rourkela. National Testing Agency, the conducting body of exam will announce JEE Main result for Paper 1 on January 31.

The key points of the advisory are as follows:

Admit Card

NTA advisory to the JEE Main aspirants has asked them to carry a printout of the JEE Main 2020 admit card on an A4 size of paper. Candidates must note that the printout must be exactly the same as downloaded from NTA website i.e.

Passport Size Photograph

Apart from the admit card, the advisory has also asked the engineering aspirants to keep one passport size photograph, preferably the same one as uploaded by them along with the JEE Main Application Form). This photograph will have to be pasted by them on the attendance sheet available at the exam centre.

ID Proof

Apart from the hall ticket and passport size photograph, JEE Main aspirants are also required to carry a Photo ID Proof along with them in ORIGINAL. As per the NTA notification, the apex testing agency will accept PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E- Aadhaar/Ration Card/12th Class Board Admit Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph as valid ID Proof. The details provided in the JEE Main Admit Card 2020 will be corroborated against this ID Proof before allowing candidate to enter the examination hall.

Things Not Allowed

Along with the list of things to keep ready, the NTA has also notified the things that are not allowed to be carried inside the examination hall for JEE Main 2020 exam starting today. These include Instrument/ Geometry/ Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, to wear/carry any type of watch including Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices.
