Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium To Be Converted Into Quarantine Centre: SAI

New Delhi: The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi will soon be used as a quarantine facility for patients infected with the novel coronavirus after the Sports of Authority of India (SAI) informed that they handed over the stadium to the Delhi government for the same purpose.

SAI handed over the stadium after the District Magistrate had earlier in the day asked if it could be used for the purpose of quarantine.

The Sports Ministry had on March 22 announced that facilities under SAI across the country will be made available for usage as quarantine facilities.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi created Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund and appealed all the countrymen to show their support for the cause.
