New Delhi: Jaideep Bhatnagar, senior officer of Indian Information Service, on Monday joined as a Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau.
He is the 1986 batch officer of Indian Information Service. Bhatnagar had earlier worked as the head of Doordarshan Samachar. The senior officer was also the commercial head of Doordarshan’s marketing wing. Bhatnagar had also worked as Special Correspondent for Prashar Bharati in 20 countries. He was also news services chief of Akashvani.
Bhatnagar had also a stint as Registrar of Indian Institute of Mass Communication. Before donning the mantle as chief of PIB, Bhatnagar had earlier worked in various capacities in the organization for six years.
Bhatnagar has taken over from Kuldip Singh Dhatwalia who retired from service on February 28.
