Jagan demolishes Naidu’s ‘Praja Vedika’


Amaravati: The state administration of Andhra Pradesh has began demolition work of ‘Praja Vedika’ on Tuesday night hours after Chief Minister issued the order.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy called the structure on the banks of the Krishna river ‘an illegal building’ that violated environmental norms.

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has got two blows from the new dispensation. Naidu was stripped of his ‘Z’ security cover and demolition of ‘Praja Vedika’ (people’s grievance cell).

Scores of workers cleared the building of furniture, air conditioners and other valuable items before the JCB machines began taking the building down.

The state machinery deployed a posse of police officers to maintain law and order situation as demolition was going on Wednesday morning.

Naidu used the structure to hold party meetings and for other official purposes which was constructed in 2017 as an extension to his residence.
