Ispat General Hospital of RSP provides free surgical treatment to its Peripheral patients


Rourkela: Ispat General Hospital of Rourkela Steel Plant, in collaboration with the Corporate Social Responsibility department, has been making all efforts to make health care facilities accessible to its peripheral populace.

Mrs. Jashoda Pasayat, a 29-year-old woman was detected with severe stomach ailment in the Multidisciplinary medical camp held at Khairbandh in Lathikata Block by RSP. The patient was referred to the IGH for further investigation and treatment. On her arrival at the hospital, she was admitted and several investigations were carried out. It was found that the patient suffered from cholelithiasis which is the presence of gall bladder stones.

A team of doctors comprising Dr. R K Behera, Director, M&HS, Dr. Manoj Panigrahi, Senior Deputy Director, M&HS, Dr. Jyoti Sahoo, Specialist, and DNB students successfully carried out the surgery on 21st January. Sister Dulari Samad, Sister Meriam Lakra and other team members took care of the patient. The patient responded well to the treatment and after a satisfactory post-surgical report she was discharged on 28th January.

It is worth mentioning here that the Ispat General Hospital of RSP is not only catering to the health care needs of its employees, former employees and their family members but also the general populace staying in and around Rourkela, as well as those coming from neighbouring districts and states as well.
