Tehran: Iran and India are keen to forge trade ties under reimposed sanctions by US. The two countries have discussed ways of continuing Iran-India trade.
The meeting between Indian diplomat Saurabh Kumar and Iranian official Masoud Khansari here discussed various ways to boost bilateral trade between the countries.
It may be recalled that after US President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from Iran’s nuclear deal in May, Iran is under severe impact of sanctions including embargoes on banking and oil sectors, media reports said.
The Iranian official was hopeful that the sanctions by US will open up new avenues of opportunity for Iran-India trade relations.
Both the officials were of the view that sanctions may create problems, but they have to find out the opportunity out of such setback.
During the discussion India presented a list of 1,000 goods items that Iran can import from India. Indian will import 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day for the next six months from Iran.
