Indonesian plane crashes, kills 13


Jakarta: Thirteen people were killed after an Indonesian military Hercules C-130 transport plane crashed on Sunday at Jayawijaya, Papua.

As per reports the plane had took off from the city of Timika city carrying 12 crew member and one passenger, but came down in a remote mountains before crashing near its destination of Wamena around 6.15 am local time (2315 GMT).

It was the third air accident in Indonesia in less than a month. Notably on November 24 a Bell 412 EP chopper crashed into the Borneo island killing three on board while a week later a police plane crashed onto sea while on way to Batam near Singapore killing 13.

In 2015 June, an air force Hercules C-130 plane crashed into a residential neighbourhood in the city of Medan, killing 142 people.
