India’s COVID-19 tally reaches 4.4 lakh, death toll at 14,011


New Delhi: Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 4,40,215, according to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry. This number includes cases involving foreign nationals, patients who have recovered and the death toll.

The death toll in India due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has risen to 14,011, the Union Health Ministry has said.

The reported active COVID-19 cases in India now stand at 1,78,014.

As many as 2,48,189 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far, the Union Health Ministry has said in its latest update.

With 1,35,796 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in the country, followed by Delhi (62,655) and Tamil Nadu (62,087).

Globally, 9,074,624 people have been infected with the virus while 471,640 people have died, according to Johns Hopkins University tracker.

As global coronavirus infections crossed nine million on Monday, the World Health Organization warned that the pandemic was accelerating.
