India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 24.6 lakh; death toll at 48,040


New Delhi: With a spike of 64,533 cases on Friday, India’s COVID-19 tally jumped to 24,61,191. The number of deaths in the last 24 hours rose by 1,007 deaths with an overall toll of 48,040.

Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 24,61,190, according to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry. This number includes cases involving foreign nationals, patients who have recovered and the death toll.

The death toll in India due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has risen to 48,040. The reported active COVID-19 cases in India now stand at 6,61,595, according to the Union Health Ministry.

As many as 17,51,555 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far.

Maharashtra: 560126 (includes recoveries, deaths and active cases)

Tamil Nadu: 320355

Andhra Pradesh: 264142

Karnataka: 203200

Delhi: 149460

The global death toll rose to 7,53,493 with 21,067,520 cases.
