Indian variant of coronavirus found in France: Health agency

Paris: The first case of Indian variant of deadly coronavirus was detected in France, according to a regional health agency director.

It was detected in mainland France.

Benoit Elleboode, director of an agency in the southwestern department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, said they have identified that it was the Indian variant. It was found from someone who had returned from India.

However, Health Minister Olivier Veron said, that “no case of the variant of Indian origin” had been detected in mainland France.
