Indian cities among most polluted in the world: Report

New Delhi: The IQAir AirVisual’s 2019 World Air Quality (WAQ) report said that 21 of world’s 30 most polluted cities are in India, with six of them in top 10.

According to World Economic Forums (WEF) report, 1.25 million people are killed by air pollution in India every year.

The report said air pollution has become one of the biggest problems for both developing as well as advanced countries. Many nations including India are struggling to contain toxic air and improve air quality.

The IQAir is a Swiss air quality technology company, has mentioned that Delhi having the worst air pollution level (PM2.5) in any global capital.

A WHO report said polluted air kills nearly seven million people around the world every year. Beijing was once used to be one of the most polluted cities in the world but has now improved its air quality.
