Indian Army officer posted in Congo goes missing in Lake Kivu, search op underway


New Delhi: An officer of Indian Army posted with the India contingent in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been missing since Saturday, informed the Indian Army on Thursday.

The officer has been identified as Lt Col Gaurav Solanki.

According to the Indian Amry, the officer had gone to the kayaking in Lake Kivu on Saturday and went missing. On being informed about the incident, a search operation was launched. However, the officer remained untraceable.

Reportedly, the search operation to trace the officer is underway.
