Auckland: Team India cruised to a 7-wicket victory over New Zealand in the second T20I match in Auckland on Sunday after which the Men In Blue has gained a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli lauded his bowlers for their top-notch performance in Auckland to restrict the home side at a low total.

India’s bowlers restricted the Black Caps to 132 for 5 after being asked to field first. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the Indian bowlers with 2 wickets for 18 runs off his 4 overs while Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube grabbed a wicket each.

Ravindra Jadeja (2/18 in 4 overs) and Jasprit Bumrah (1/21 in 4 overs) were primarily responsible for restricting New Zealand to 132 with the help of a steady Mohammed Shami (0/22 in 4 overs) as India won the 2nd T20I with ease.

India rode on opener KL Rahul’s unbeaten 57 to chase down 133 in 17.3 overs and take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. The low total led the Indians to the win.

The visitors had won the last game at the same venue by 6 wickets.
