India will take on the West Indies in the second T20I at Warner Park in St. Kitts on 1st August 2022. The Men in Blue will enter this contest after posting a comprehensive 68-run win in the first T20I.
Skipper Rohit Sharma led the way with the bat in the first match, scoring 64, while Dinesh Karthik scored a quickfire 19-ball 41*. The Indian bowling unit then came up with a tidy performance and restricted the opposition to a total of 122/8 in their 20-over quota.
In the first T20I, Rohit (3443 runs) went past Martin Guptill (3399 runs) and is now the highest run scorer in T20I cricket.
In the second T20I, another milestone awaits the India captain. If Rohit can score 44 runs in the match, he will become just the seventh Indian batter to complete 16000 runs in international cricket.
After the first match, Rohit said that India are looking to get the best out of every player in the team.
“There are three facets of the game we want to try to improve, and how we can get the best out of each player. We’ve given specific roles to specific players to come and do the job for the team. There’s no guarantee that it will happen every game, but we got to try and back those ideas of going out there and trying to execute certain skills with the bat.”
