Port of Spain: Skipper Virat Kohli earned his 43rd ODI century helping India register a six-wicket victory over West Indies in the third and final ODI at Port of Spain on Wednesday.
West Indies skipper Jason Holder won the toss and opted to bat against India in the third and final ODI of the three-match series in Port-of-Spain.
Chris Gayle smashed his way to a 72-run knock and powered the hosts to a competitive total of 240 for seven in the rain-curtailed match.
India were set a stiff revised 255-run target on the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Kohli was at his most imperious in compiling an unbeaten 114 — his second consecutive ODI hundred — to pilot his team to 256 for four with 15 balls to spare.
Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 114 off 99 deliveries. This was his 43rd ODI hundred overall impact on the series ensured him the double accolade of ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Man of the Series’.
Kohli and his boys gave India the series 2-0 following the abandoned first match in Guyana last week.
