India rejects Turkish President’s remark on Kashmir

New Delhi: India has warned Turkey not to meddle with its affairs after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks over Kashmir in Pakistan parliament.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has expressed strong reservations over Turkey-Pakistan joint declaration on the issue.

Erdogan said that Kashmir is a matter of concern to both Ankara and Islamabad. India called upon the Turkish leadership to not interfere with India’s internal affairs and instead develop a proper understanding of facts after India rejects all references to Jammu & Kashmir.

India reiterated that Kashmir is an integral and inalienable part of India.

The MEA said: “We call upon the Turkish leadership not to interfere in India’s internal affairs and develop a proper understanding of the facts, including the grave threat posed by terrorism emanating from Pakistan to India and the region”.
