India registers 26,382 new coronavirus cases, tally rises to 99.32 lakh

New Delhi: India’s coronavirus tally rose to 99,32,547 on Wednesday as it registered 26,382 new cases in 24 hours.

The death toll in India due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has risen to 1,44,096, the Union Health Ministry has said.

The reported active COVID-19 cases in India stand at 3,32,002 and many as 94,56,449 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 94,56,449, pushing the national recovery rate to 95.21 percent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.45 percent. The COVID-19 active caseload remained below 4 lakh for the 10th consecutive day.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a cumulative total of 15,66,46,280 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to December 15 with 10,85,625 samples being tested on Tuesday.
