New Delhi: With over 20,000 COVID-19 cases, India on Friday recorded the highest one-day increase continuing a grim trend this month. The new daily record is over a 1,000 more than the previous one of 19,800 plus.
India’s coronavirus tally has crossed the six lakh-mark after more than 20,000 new infections and 379 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
Confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 6,25,544, which includes 18,213 deaths, the Union Health Ministry said in it’s latest update.
Out of the total number of infections, 2,27,439 are active cases and 3,79,891 have recovered.
Up to July 2, 92,97,749 samples have been tested for COVID-19, of which 2,41,576 were tested yesterday: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
Globally 10,842,615 people have been infected with the virus while 5,20,785 people have died due to it according to Johns Hopkins University tracker.
