New Delhi: India logged 16,764 new Covid cases, and 220 deaths. There are a total of 1270 Omicron cases now in India. Active caseload currently stands at 91,361. Recovery Rate currently at 98.36%
Amid rising Covid cases across the country and the Omicron tally crossing the 1,000-mark, the Union health ministry on Thursday informed that eight districts are reporting over 10 per cent weekly test positivity rate and 14 districts are reporting weekly test positivity between 5-10 per cent.
It identified Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat as states/UTs of concern on basis of weekly Covid-19 cases and positivity.
Delhi accounted for 263 cases followed by Maharashtra at 252, Gujarat(97), Rajasthan(69), Kerala (65) & Telangana 62 from among states with over 50 cases of Omicron variant of concern. These were detected in 22 states & UTs.
