India adds 3,43,144 new COVID-19 cases, tally breaches 24 million mark

New Delhi: A slight decline in new coronavirus infections was seen in the country in the last 24 hours with 3,43,144 people testing positive, according to the data released by the Union health ministry on Friday. With the new additions, India's tally has mounted to 2,40,46,809, while recoveries stand at 2,00,79,599. The death toll has touched 2,62,317. India now has 37,04,893 active cases. As many as 31,13,24,100 samples have been tested in the country up till May 13, including 18,75,515 samples tested yesterday, informed Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
