Rajkot: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma pushed India to beat Bangladesh by eight wickets at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot on Thursday.
Rohit Sharma scored a half-century in his 100th T20I appearance. Rohit completed his 18th fifty off just 23 balls.
Rohit hit 6 fours and as many sixes in his innings which lasted just 43 balls as he bludgeoned the Bangladesh bowlers to all parts of the ground in a successful chase of 154.
Earlier, India had elected to field after winning the toss. Bangladesh got off to a solid start and scored 54 runs in the powerplay but failed to capitalise on the start and could only post 153/6 on the board.
Yuzvendra Chahal led India’s fightback after Bangladesh openers Liton Das (29 off 21 balls, 4×4) and Mohammad Naim (36) shared a 60-run opening stand. Chahal (2/28) picked up 2 wickets in the 13th over of the innings to peg back the visitors.
