Inclusive Job Fair Held at Special ITI for PwDs; 290 Jobseekers Shortlisted


Khurda: An Inclusive Job Fair for PwDs & Non-disabled Jobseekers was organised today by National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (Erstwhile VRCH), Bhubaneswar inside the campus of Special ITI for PwDs, Khudupur, Jatni, Khurda in collaboration with Department of SSEPD, Government of Odisha and Special ITI for PwDs, Director of Technical Education & Training,(DT&ET), Odisha.

21 nos. of PAN India Companies such as TATA Steel, L&T Finance, Peoples Forum., EUREKA FORBES, Sky Automobiles – Maruti Suzuki, Sambandh Finserv Pvt Ltd., Suryoday Small Finance Bank etc., ICICI Bank, SBI Life Insurance, MEDPLUS, Apace Consultancy, Deevine Nursing Care Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Edify Skills India Pvt. Ltd., KITEX Limited, Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., SSSV Solutions, SKY Automobiles, M B Hospitality Services, Godrej & Boyce, Alfa Projects & Services (P) Ltd., Starlink Logistics Pvt. Ltd., RWSM Limited have participated in the  Inclusive Job Fair.

More than 510 (78 PwDs & 432 Non-disables) jobseekers registered and after registration of jobseekers, they have been counselled and scheduled their interview by matching their eligibility and requirements of employer. The jobseekers were mobilised from registered jobseekers in National Career Service (NCS) Portal, registered candidates at NCSCDA, District Employment Exchanges, trained candidates of various ITIs, ORMAS, different Skill providers of DDU-GKY, and some fresher candidates of local Colleges and Universities.

Around 290 jobseekers including PwDs have been shortlisted by participating employers as per their requirement. The Job Fair was organised in such a manner that all key stakeholders like employers, jobseekers, skill providers, placement organisations, and counsellors have participated and the programme was well appreciated among all. Sri Dilip Kumar Sahoo, Principal, Special ITI for PwDs, Khudupur, Jatni along with the staff members extended all possible support to make the Job Fair successful.

Sri J. Padmanav Rao, Young Professional, Model Career Centre-NCSCDA, Bhubaneswar coordinated with Employers and dedicated staff of NCSCDA made it successful under the active leadership of Shri Ram Kishor Sharma, Assistant Director (Employment), NCSCDA, Bhubaneswar.

The entire event was guided by Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of SSEPD, Government of Odisha, who also visited during the Job Fair and interacted with the PwDs and participated Employers. Smt. Sulochana  Das, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities of Odisha, Shri G. Reghu, IAS, Director, DT&ET, Government of Odisha, and Smt. Shakuntala Patnaik, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Shri Jagdish Prasad Lakheda, Training & Placement Officer, National Institute of Visually Handicapped (NIVH) Dehradun, Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ms Dipti Dash, Member, Shri Bipin Kumar, District Youth Coordinator, NYKS, Khurdha, District Child Welfare Committee, Puri witnessed the event by interacting with the jobseekers and employers.
