Puri: Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, Lord Jagannath & Lord Sudarsan – The ‘Chaturdha Murti’, have reached the ‘Snana Bedi’ (bathing altar) ahead of divine bathing rituals on Snana Purnima.
As a part of the ‘Snana Yatra’ rituals, the temple servitors took the holy trinity along with Lord Sudarshan in ‘Dhadi Pahandi’ in the morning.
Here are some mesmerising pictures from Puri:
As per the prevailing practise in the temple, Lord Jagannath would be bathed with 35 pots of aromatic water while the number has been kept at 33, 22 and 18 for Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Sudarshan. The ritual for the ‘quaternity’ would be carried out by the Pujapanda servitors.
All rituals like Mangal Arpana, Pahandi, Madan Mohan Bije, Mangala Alati, Mailama, Tadapa Lagi and Adhara Pocha were completed by by 5.30 AM.
The Information and Public Relation (I & PR) Department is live telecasting the religious extravaganza to ensure that devotees get a glimpse of the deities and their rituals associated with Snana Purnima today.
