Imran Khan silent on Uighur repression, says China is great friend

Bonn: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has remained tight-lipped on Uighur Muslims repression in China. He said Beijing is a “good friend” of Pakistan.

Khan has remained silent on the matter despite the global outcry.

When media persons asked him why he is not criticizing China on Uighur Muslim issue but very critical on Kashmir issue, the Pakistan PM said: “Well, mainly for two reasons. First, the scale of what is happening in India is not comparable to what is supposedly happening to the Uighurs in China. Second, China has been a great friend. It has helped us in our most difficult times as well as in economic crisis.”

It is worthwhile to mention that China has been condemned internationally for cracking down on the minorities living in their countries.
