IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert For 9 Odisha Dists Today

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre on Wednesday issued heavy rainfall alert for nine districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

The rain alert has been sounded for Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 20.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal.

Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Kalahandi.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Cuttack, Khordha, Sambalpur and Deogarh. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri and Sundargarh.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Boudh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Bargarh and Kalahandi. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Kendrapara Jagatsinghpur.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 24.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Deogarh.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.07.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Balasore, Koraput and Malkangiri.
