IMD Issues Cold Wave Alert For These Odisha Dists

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre on Sunday issued an orange warning regarding cold wave conditions in various parts of Odisha.

“Coldwave to severe cold wave conditions is likely to prevail over the districts of the interior of Odisha during next three days. The minimum temperature over coastal Odisha during this period likely to be below normal by 3 to 4 degree Celsius’, ” MeT’s latest bulletin read.

Here’s the day-wise forecasts regarding cold wave conditions:

Day-1 (Valid up to 8.30 AM Of December 21):

Orange Warning: Isolated cold wave to severe cold wave condition very likely prevail over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Bargarh.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Isolated cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Koraput, Kandhamal, Balasore, Keonjhar, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Deogarh.

Day-2 (Valid From 8.30 AM of December 21 to 8.30 AM of December 22)

Orange Warning (Be prepared): Isolated Cold wave to Severe cold wave condition very likely prevail over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Bargarh.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Isolated cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Koraput, Kandhamal, Balasore, Keonjhar, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Dhenkanal and Deogarh.

Day-3 (Valid From 8.30 AM of December 22 to 8.30 AM of December 23)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Isolated Cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Koraput, Kandhamal, Balasore, Keonjhar, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Dhenkanal and Deogarh.

People of the areas have been advised to stay indoors during night and make arrangements to keep livestock in shed/indoor area.
