Bhubaneswar: A day after the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) issued a show-cause notice to the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Paradip Refinery Project alleging it of flouting land lease deed and allotment terms and conditions, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday asked mediapersons to visit the spot and see for themselves what is true.
The Idco has sought a reply from the IOCL within 15 days on the issue. The Idco has alleged that an approach road connecting NH-5 to the IOCL plant site crossing the Kujang road is used by local people for commuting. But the IOCL is creating obstacle for public thoroughfare on the road.
Notably, the State Government and the IOCL are also at loggerheads over the collection of tax from the refinery. Cuttack Barabati MLA Debasis Samantaray had threatened to stop water supply from the Mahanadi to the refinery.
