Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Department, Principal Secretary, Satyabrata Sahoo, reviewed the ongoing civil works relating to Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas in a meeting held here today.
The meeting was attended by Lingraj Panda, IAS, State Project Director, OAVS, Engineer-in-Chief, Works, Chief Engineer, RD, Chief Engineer, RWSS, representatives of TATA Steel Ltd, MD, OBCC, Additional Secretary of the Department, all concerned Executive Engineers and all Section Heads of OAVS.
It was decided that the model Vidyalaya at Andharua, Bhubaneswar, where the construction of the boundary wall has already started, will be completed by 2022. About 500 meritorious students from Adarsha Vidyalayas across the State will be imparted coaching for medical, engineering, and other entrance examinations. State of the art facilities will be provided at the Model school. This was a dream project of the late Advisor Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo and the Principal Secretary stated that commencement of classes from the next academic year will be a befitting tribute to the late Advisor of the Sangathan.
The ongoing building construction works being undertaken by Works Department, RD Department, and TATA Steel were reviewed and it was urged to complete the works as per decided timelines. The Collectors of Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, and Bargarh were requested to address the land problems and hand over land to the Executive Engineers.
The projects being taken up for the development of the Vidyalayas of Keonjhar, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh districts, like construction of hostels, boundary wall, cycle stand, approach roads, etc with OMBADC funds was also reviewed. All the Executive Engineers were requested to complete the projects as per timelines.
