New Delhi: Smriti Mandhana moved up three spots to become the world number 1 batswoman following India’s 2-1 win over hosts New Zealand in the ODI series.
Mandhana, 22, topped the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI batting rankings with 751 points. She remained above Australians Ellyse Perry and Meg Lanning. Mithali Raj stood at fifth position.
Mandhana was the highest run-getter in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against New Zealand. She scored 196 runs in the three ODIs at an average of 98.
According to the ICC statement, it was fine recognition for Smriti Mandhana, who has been in an exemplary form in the one-day format.
