Gorakhpur: A Jaguar fighter plane of Indian Air Force (IAF) has crashed in Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, but the cause is yet to be determined.
Reports said the plane took off from Gorakhpur Air Force station, about 40 km from the crash site. The pilot of the fighter jet ejected to safety.
No casualties have been reported on ground.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered into the crash, an Indian Air Force statement said.
Reports said the military aircraft crashed soon after it took off on a routine mission from Gorakhpur Air Force Station.
The pilot reportedly sensed a technical snag in the aircraft and maneuvred the aircraft towards a safe destination before ejecting from the aircraft.
Authorities said the pilot was rushed to a hospital for immediate treatment.
Investigation is underway to determine the cause of the mishap.
