Hurricane Ian Hits South Carolina After Florida
Fort Myers: After Florida, Hurricane Ian, roared into South Carolina on Friday. As per reports, Ian made landfall near Georgetown, South Carolina, as a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 85 miles (140 kilometers) per hour.
The deadly storm caused significant damage in Florida leaving at least 17 people dead and now it has struck South Carolina.
Seventeen migrants also remain missing from a boat that sank during the hurricane on Wednesday, according to the Coast Guard. One person was found dead and nine others rescued, including four Cubans who swam to shore in the Florida Keys.

Earlier, on Friday, the NHC had said Ian is bringing heavy rain, flash flooding and high winds to both South Carolina and North Carolina. Some areas can expect up to eight inches of rain.
