Huge cache of Maoist items and explosives seized in Debagarh forest
Debagarh: A huge cache of Maoist items were seized from a forest in Debagarh district while District Voluntary Force (DVF) was undertaking area domination exercise on Tuesday evening.
The Maoist items seized from a forest near Kelada village under Barkote police limits in the district included – books, flags, dresses, tarpaulin used to make tents, cordex and other explosives.
The DVF was undertaking the area domination exercise for last two days following a directive of district Superintendent of Police Anupama James regarding activity of red rebels in Kelada and Chapabahala forests under the leadership of Maoist leader Anmol alias Sushant aka Samar Ji.
Last evening, the DVF spotted a thin wire connection on top of the Kelada hill and intensified the search operation that led to seizure of the Maoist materials.
